Around 200 families from Sandwell will ‘shore’ have a good time at the seaside next week and they only have to shell out £8.
Parents and children who use Health for Living’s Greenacres Children’s Centre and Oldbury Children’s Centre will board coaches on Thursday (29 August) for a fun-filled day out at Weston-Super-Mare.
Once there, families will be able to enjoy all the sights and sounds of the well-known seaside resort, including the sandy beach, promenade, Grand Pier and donkey rides.
Andrew Fisher, Administrator at Oldbury and Greenacres children centres, said: “Each year, staff at the centres work really hard to put on an event for families. This year, following close consultation with parents, it was decided that we would go to Weston-Super-Mare.
“We’ve tried to keep the cost of the tickets as affordable as possible and as a result the uptake for the trip has been fantastic. We’re all really looking forward to a fun, and hopefully sun-filled, day at the seaside.”
Both children’s centres are managed by Health for Living, a partnership between the Accord Group, Black Country Housing Group, Murray Hall Community Trust and Sandwell Mind, in association with charity Family Action.
The centres provide a range of services for children and families, from crèche facilities and playgroups to maternity and family support services and training courses for parents.
