Health for Living’s Confidence and Wellbeing team will be hosting the exciting ‘You Can’ event and are eager for people to come along and participate on Saturday, 9 November.
The day will run from 10am-4pm at Greets Green Access Centre on Tildasley Street, West Bromwich and offers a packed activity schedule throughout the day.
There will be a host of workshops taking place for people to join in, including British Sign Language, laughter, meditation and bird feeding.
Demonstrations will be innovative and stimulating and will include jewellery making and knitting.
If that isn’t enough to keep people enthused, there will be opportunities to tempt the taste buds whilst learning with the smoothie making taster session and the Yemeni culture and food tasting experience.
There will also be a range of informative and inspiring talks as well as information stalls to browse, meaning there will be something to appeal to everyone.
Terri Collins, Self Help Coach for Health for Living is keen for people to come along and experience this unique event.
She said: “You Can is about sharing skills and passions and trying something new.
“Trying new things and giving of ourselves and our time are elements which are important to our sense of wellbeing.
“There is so much we can learn from each other by exchanging knowledge, skills and experiences, and we would like to create opportunities in Sandwell where people can showcase and share these with one another.”
With this in mind, the Confidence and Wellbeing team are keen to showcase events such as ‘You Can’ as it gives community members the opportunity to try something new and build confidence whilst enjoying themselves at the same without any cost implications to themselves.
Terri added: “You Can is a real community event, with people volunteering their time to offer inspiring talks, demonstrations and workshops for free.”
